The Horror of the Ordinary

Storyline: In a parallel universe, four low-level Nazi soldiers are sentenced as punishment for a disciplinary offense to travel back in time and scout out the ruling strategies, rituals, war tactics and organizational structures of once great empires. As "emissaries of the people without space-time", the chrononauts meet world rulers from different eras and try to prepare world history for the arrival of their leader Alfred (sic!) Hitler by retro-active history-repairs.

Originally conceived as a series of simple, short episodes for a tourist audience, The Horror of the Ordinary – Nazisupermenschen are superior to y' all – was first performed in the club environment of the Ding Dong Dom, our self-built temporary venue on the banks of the river Spree in Berlin. Later, a full-length version was produced and toured in Germany and abroad.

Review

„...The good gentlemen of Showcase Beat Le Mot indirectly show what the infinite indifference of non-stop postmodern European irony costs on almost all levels. Facts and fictions merge together. As a result, reality becomes an increasingly sinister threat...“

(Der Standard, October,10th, 2016 , Helmut Ploebst, "Böse Helden gegen die postmoderne Dauerironie")
