Remode Zombi Andy Beuyz

For the theater & performance group Showcase Beat Le Mot, two movements within Joseph Beuys‘ work are fundamental to their own work: one is his overcoming of the picture nailed to the wall, the other is his exploration of space. Showcase Beat Le Mot have always rejected the central perspective of theater in the peep-box stage and like to spread out in non-artistic places such as gymnasiums or forests. On top they feel a deep connection though their enthusiastic interest in shamanism and precapitalist forms of life such as the commons or the commune.
From Beuys they have learned to be hooligans, iconoclasts and cooks. But first and foremost they are hosts. Together with their viewers, they form a social sculpture that cuts its way through the present, which is portrayed as having no alternative; like a cheese slicer through the sausage counter, which stands around as a lost installation in the museum. Showcase Beat Le Mot peel the moment out of the monument and use it to bake society-expanding cookies for every season. As curated accompaniment they serve coffee that tastes like tea, urine cocktails that glow in the dark and chemtrails that write instructions in the sky.
